The Slow Yes

There's a kind of decision that doesn't arrive all at once.

It shows up quietly at first -- a whisper, a nudge, a feeling you can't quite name.

You push it aside. You go back to what's familiar. But it keeps returning, a little louder each time, until you finally have to sit down and actually listen to it.

That's the slow yes.

Not long ago, I found myself in one of those seasons. I was considering a big professional change, leaving something I knew, something comfortable, something that had been part of my identity, for something unknown. The kind of leap that makes your stomach flip and your mind race through every possible "what if."

I didn't decide quickly. I sat with it. I weighed what I might lose. I got honest about what I was hoping to gain. I let myself feel the fear without letting it make the decision for me.

And eventually, the yes came. Not with fireworks, more like a quiet settling. A knowing.

That decision turned out to be one of the best I've ever made.

Here's what I want you to take into this week: not every yes is supposed to be fast. Some of the most important moves of your life are going to ask you to slow down, feel it fully, and trust the process of becoming clear. The world will pressure you to decide quickly. Your fear will tell you that hesitation means doubt. But sometimes, the slow yes is the most powerful yes there is.

It means you didn't rush your own becoming.

So if you're sitting in that in-between space right now, not quite ready, but feeling the pull, give yourself permission to stay there a little longer. The right yes will find its way to you.

And when it does, you'll know.
