Motivational Monday: The 3 Biggest Mistakes I Made Manifesting My Dream Life (So You Don't Have To)

Let’s be real — the road to manifesting the life you want isn’t always a straight line lined with sunshine and affirmations. It’s bumpy, messy, and often full of lessons disguised as detours. And trust me, I’ve taken more than my fair share of wrong turns along the way.

But here’s the thing: those mistakes taught me more than any book, podcast, or “5 steps to manifest” checklist ever could. They shaped the way I approach manifesting today, and I want to share them with you so maybe, just maybe, your road can be a little smoother than mine was.

Mistake #1: Manifesting from desperation instead of alignment.

I spent a long time trying to force things into existence. I was so fixated on wanting something right now that I didn’t realize how much that frantic energy was actually pushing it away. Manifestation isn’t about begging the universe, it’s about becoming an energetic match for what you want. When I shifted from “I need this” to “I’m ready for this,” everything changed. Doors opened, opportunities flowed, and I stopped chasing what was already making its way to me.

Mistake #2: Obsessing over the “how” instead of anchoring into the “why.”

Oh, this one held me back for years. I wanted to know how it would happen. The plan, the timeline, the exact series of events that would lead to the dream. Spoiler alert: that’s not how manifestation works. The “how” isn’t our job, our job is to know what we want and why we want it, and to take aligned action from that place. Once I loosened my grip on the details and trusted that the path would unfold, I started noticing possibilities I’d been too busy controlling to even see.

Mistake #3: Playing small and doubting my worthiness.

This one’s the sneakiest. I didn’t even realize how often I was shrinking my dreams to match the version of myself I used to be, not the one I was becoming. I told myself things like “maybe that’s too much to ask for” or “I should just be grateful for what I have.” And while gratitude is always part of my practice, settling isn’t. The moment I decided I was worthy of the big, bold, beautiful life I envisioned, without apology, was the moment my manifestations started meeting me at that level.

Here’s what I want you to know: mistakes aren’t failures. They’re teachers. They show us where our beliefs need upgrading and where our energy needs shifting. So if you’ve been trying and it’s not working yet, good. It means you’re learning. You’re closer than you think.

And if you’re ready to dig deeper into this work, to stop spinning your wheels and start aligning your energy, actions, and dreams, I’ve created something that can help. It’s a simple, powerful way to bring gratitude into your daily life and use it as the fuel for everything you’re manifesting. You can check it out here and start creating the momentum you’ve been craving.

Here’s to the lessons, the missteps, and the beautiful dream life waiting on the other side of them. ✨
